"Since these proposals were announced, I have been in frequent contact with Anne Kinderlerer, the Chair of Governors, and have heard the concerns of many parents whose children attend Gladstone Park. I am particularly concerned about the short timeframe that has been given to the school for the implementation of academy status, especially given the fact that until this latest inspection the school had been classified as 'good'.

  • Sarah Teather launches petition to stop Police Station front counter closures
    Article: Jan 28, 2013

Local Lib Dem MP Sarah Teather has launched a petition opposing Boris Johnson's police front counter closures. Under the Tory Mayor's plans, two of Brent's front counters in Harlesden and Willesden Green are to be closed, with Willesden Green Police Station closed entirely.

Sixty-five front counters across London have been earmarked for closure due to apparent 'underuse'. However, a survey of Harlesden Police Station showed that its front counter was used by 642 people over a 25-day period, making the front counter busier than the one at Kilburn Police Station, which is to remain open.
