Make sure you have your say
Local Liberal Democrat MP Sarah Teather has today urged local residents to make sure they have their say at the next General Election. If the General Election is called for 5th May, which is what all the commentators expect, only people on the electoral roll by 11 March will be able to vote. That means there is just one month left to register.
Anyone who thinks they are not on the electoral roll at their home address can get a form and return it to Brent council. In Brent, residents should phone the Council on 020 8937 1372 and ask for an electoral registration form. They are also available to download from www.aboutmyvote.co.uk
Local Liberal Democrat MP Sarah Teather said:
"It's so important that people have their say in how they want their area represented. Voting is one of the most important rights we have in modern society, many people fought long and hard to get the right to vote. If you have no vote, you have no voice. I would urge all Brent residents to make sure they are registered to vote."
