Sarah Teather will hold an emergency surgery for those effected by the tornado

Following yesterday's tornado in Kensal Rise, local Liberal Democrat MP Sarah Teather is set to hold an emergency meeting with the Association of British Insurers for those affected by the disaster.

Sarah has also written to the Government asking them to provide assistance from their Emergency Relief Fund.

Liberal Democrat MP for Brent East, Sarah Teather said:

"This is a terrible thing to happen, especially in the run up to Christmas. The Council and Government agencies must work closely together to bring relief to those that have suffered from the effects of the tornado.

"I'd like to congratulate the Willesden and Brent Times for organising a relief fund and I would urge people, as I'm sure they will, to give generously in this time of need."

If you are a resident of the Brent Central constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
