Sarah Teather is supporting Islamia Girls School in the National Youth Parliament Competition

Local Liberal Democrat MP for Brent East, Sarah Teather, yesterday welcomed pupils from the Brent Islamia Girls School on Salusbury Road to Westminster.

On hearing that the school was taking part in the National Youth Parliament Competition, Sarah invited pupils to Westminster to experience a real debate in the House of Commons.

Local Liberal Democrat MP for Brent East, Sarah Teather, said:

"I was really pleased to welcome the girls from the Islamia Girls School. It's great to see young people in Brent engaging with British politics and learning about the democratic process first hand.

"The Parliament building is simply spectacular and I hope it inspires some of the pupils to think about returning as elected members one day.

"I wish them all the very best of luck and will do all I can to support them in the National Youth Parliament Competition."

If you are a resident of the Brent Central constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
