The Liberal Democrats have selected Brent community activist Sandra Wiltshire as their candidate for the Stonebridge by-election to be held on 13th September.

Local campaigner Sandra is 34 and grew up in Stonebridge and Willesden. She has lived in Brent all of her life, is a local housing association tenant and has just completed a course in housing regeneration. Previously Sandra owned her own fashion business.

Sandra has promised to continue working hard for local people. She has already been campaigning against Labour's cuts to local NHS services, and working with popular Brent MP Sarah Teather to protect local Post Offices.

Like the Dudden Hill by-election in June, the Stonebridge by-election is set to be a two horse race between Labour and the Liberal Democrats. The Conservatives cannot win in Brent.

Local Campaigner Sandra Wiltshire said:

"It is a real honour to be standing in the area where I grew up. Stonebridge has been neglected by Labour for years. I want to make our area a better place to live.

"Stonebridge needs a councillor who will listen to local people and take a stand on the issues that really matter. Many people have told me how worried they are about crime and anti-social behaviour and Labour's threats to our local NHS services."

Local Liberal Democrat MP for Brent East Sarah Teather said:

"I am delighted that Sandra will be standing in Stonebridge for the Liberal Democrats.

"Sandra is an excellent candidate and support for her is growing every day: she has a proven track record of getting things done for her community and will be able to make even more of a difference as a local councillor."

If you are a resident of the Brent Central constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
