Sarah Teather keeps in touch with local people and groups in Brent

Sarah Teather, local Liberal Democrat MP for Brent East, has welcomed Dame Betty Asafu-Adjaye for lunch in the House of Commons.

Dame Betty founded the Mission Dine Club in Brent for older, disabled and vulnerable people, offering hot meals, activities, outings and company. It started in Dame Betty's flat with just two people, but now has a permanent home at Fry and Chadwick Road in Brent.

Last year Sarah visited Dame Betty at the Mission Dine Club's annual Summer Fun Day.

Local Liberal Democrat MP for Brent East Sarah Teather said:

"I really enjoy visiting my constituents at the Mission Dine Club, and wanted to repay the favour by inviting Dame Betty for lunch in the House of Commons.

"It is so good to hear Dame Betty's ideas on how we can help older people in Brent. She is tremendous fun and living proof of what one person can achieve when they have energy, determination and a clear vision."

If you are a resident of the Brent Central constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
