Local Lib Dems suggested the charity money was given to Daniel's Den
Local Liberal Democrat MP for Brent East Sarah Teather has presented almost £1000 to Brent parent toddler group Daniel's Den, following a charity fun run last month.
The sponsored fun run was organised by the Hilton Plaza Hotel in Wembley, as part of their project to organise charity fun runs across the world to raise money for local charities. Many staff from the Wembley hotel took part with families and friends in a relaxed day, where some ran and most walked the course in the brilliant sunshine.
Liberal Democrat Councillors Peter Corcoran and Daniel Bessong, who walked on the fun day with Sarah, suggested that the £928-19 raised should be donated to Daniel's Den parent/toddler group in Tokyngton.
Local Liberal Democrat MP for Brent East Sarah Teather said:
"I'd like to thank the Plaza Hotel for their generous support for local people. It's great to see businesses giving a helping hand to local groups in Brent, and a lovely idea to get people taking some relaxed exercise.
"Daniel's Den is a vital community resource, and this donation is richly deserved. They are such a welcoming group and do really valuable work with both children and their parents.
"This money will really help Daniel's Den to build on the great work that they already do, by organising extra days out and trips for their members."
