Local Liberal Democrat MP for Brent East Sarah Teather took part in Brent's annual Jamaica Day celebrations on Saturday.

Hosted by the Friendship Social Club at Copland School, the event aimed to build greater links between Jamaicans in Britain. Those attending were entertained by music, dancing and a gospel choir.

Local Liberal Democrat MP for Brent East Sarah Teather said:

"I was really pleased to take part in Brent's Jamaica Day and would like to congratulate all those who worked so hard to organise such a great event.

"People who came from Jamaica on the Windrush, and now their children and grandchildren, have had a very important influence on our area. Brent is the place it is because of the people who have chosen to make it their home.

"I hope that the event inspires many more young Jamaicans to get involved in their community."

If you are a resident of the Brent Central constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
