Local MP Sarah Teather values Brent's diversity

Sarah Teather, Brent's local Liberal Democrat MP, has joined her constituents at Brent Town Hall to mark 100 years of Buddhism in the UK.

The important celebration was organised by the World Buddhist Foundation, which aims to advance the Buddhist religion through education, training and religious activities. There are over 150,000 Buddhists in the UK, including almost 2,500 in Brent.

Local Liberal Democrat MP for Brent East Sarah Teather said:

"The 100th anniversary of Buddhism in the UK is an important milestone not just for Buddhists but for wider British society. I was really pleased to mark this event with the many Buddhists in Brent.

"One of the best things about Brent is that people from all different faiths, nationalities and backgrounds live side by side, and it's important to take a moment to reflect on the contribution of each of these different groups.

"I warmly congratulate British Buddhists on 100 years in the UK."

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
