Local MP Sarah has been nominated for a top award by Asian Voice magazine
Brent's local Liberal Democrat MP Sarah Teather has been nominated for parliamentarian of the year in the annual Asian Voice awards.
The awards are given annually to people who have made a "special impact" in the preceding 12 months and who have made "a big difference in their local communities".
Sarah has close links with Brent's South Asian community, and is a regular visitor at the Swaminarayan Temple. This year Sarah also campaigned against the government's unfair changes to the family visa system and become patron of the Silver Star charity for people with diabetes.
Local Liberal Democrat MP for Brent East Sarah Teather said:
"It is a huge honour to be nominated by Asian Voice for this award, and a real tribute to all the local residents and community groups I have worked with over the past year."
