Local Liberal Democrat MP for Brent East Sarah Teather said:
"It was disappointing that the G20 summit didn't achieve more on climate change. Rich countries must make a serious commitment to cutting emissions, and promise to help those poorer countries who are set to suffer from the effects of climate change already too late to stop.
"The banking sector hasn't just helped ruin our economy, they have helped to ruin our planet as well. The government must force banks to report on their carbon emissions, so that we can scrutinise their actions and be sure that they are acting in an environmentally responsible way.
"Many people in Brent care passionately about climate change and the environment, but are seeing their good work cancelled out by the irresponsible actions of those in power. The Labour Government must do all they can to work towards a real agreement on climate change when the G20 next meet in December."
