Sarah is campaiging for more local police for Brent

Local Liberal Democrat Brent East MP Sarah Teather has joined the Brent Community Safety Bus to fight against crime and help local residents stay safe.

Brent Safer Neighbourhoods Team and Brent Neighbourhood Watch have collaborated to mark National Neighbourhood Watch Week. They are taking the Community Safety Bus around the borough to talk to local people, hear concerns about crime, and share tips and advice on how residents can protect themselves.

Sarah joined the team as they stopped off at Sainsburys in Willesden Green.

Local Liberal Democrat MP for Brent East Sarah Teather said:

"Crime is a top concern for people in Brent, so it's great to see local crime fighting organisations coming together to take practical action.

"We can only beat crime if we all work together and look out for one another. I was pleased to speak to so many local residents today about their fears, and to share advice on how we can all protect ourselves.

"Events like this show how important it is to have police based in the local area, who are part of the community and known to residents. We need a strong police presence all year around, and I hope that many residents will join my campaign against the closure of Willesden Green and Harlesden police stations."

If you are a resident of the Brent Central constituency and are writing to discuss any issue that Parliament or government is responsible for, you must provide your home address as MPs are generally only permitted to act on behalf of constituents.

If you are not a constituent, you do not need to provide your address, but the matters we can deal with are more limited and you may wish to contact your local MP in the first instance.
