Floella Benjamin is backing Sarah Teather's campaign
Popular TV personality and children's campaigner Floella Benjamin has visited Brent to support Sarah Teather's campaign for Brent Central.
Floella joined Sarah on Harlesden High Street, in the heart of Brent, to collect signatures against Labour's unfair passenger tax on flights to the Caribbean.
Floella Benjamin said:
"I used to be a Labour supporter but, like so many other people, I feel deeply disappointed by the way they have taken us for granted.
"As soon as you meet Sarah it's obvious that she isn't like other MPs: she always puts her constituents first and fights passionately for a fairer and more equal world. I know that Sarah wants the best for everyone in Brent, no matter what their background - she always has and always will.
"Sarah is definitely the best choice for Brent. I hope local people will use their precious vote to support her."
Liberal Democrat Brent Central candidate Sarah Teather said:
"I have been friends with Floella for many years and we have campaigned together on issues like education and the unfair Caribbean passenger tax.
"Floella is an inspirational figure and I am so pleased and proud that she is backing my campaign."
