Conservative supporters are switching to back Sarah Teather and the Liberal Democrats to stop labour winning in Brent
The Conservatives already trailing in a poor third place have now thrown in the towel in the race for Brent Central. Speaking to the BBC, Brent Central Conservative Chairperson Jennifer Seaton-Brown admitted that the Conservatives were now concentrating 'on their target areas'. She also admitted that the crucial battleground of Kensal Green which had previously had a Conservative Councillor was now 'a Labour/Lib Dem fight'.
The Conservatives are 100/1 with leading bookmakers Ladbrokes and are in a poor third place. Many Conservative supporters are backing Sarah Teather and the Liberal Democrats to stop Labour winning
Local Liberal Democrat Councillor Chris Leaman said:
"The Conservatives have now admitted themselves that they cannot win Brent Central. Here in Brent people face a simple choice either they will have Liberal Democrat Sarah Teather as their MP or Labour's Dawn Butler. No other result is possible. Many Conservative supporters are now backing the Liberal Democrats to stop Labour winning here in Brent."
