We have serious concerns that the closures of these stations' front desks will lead to a reduced reporting of serious crime and a worsening of relations between residents and the Metropolitan Police.
We do not agree that the front counters are underused - the stated reason for their closure - and wish to highlight the front counter survey in 2011 that showed that Harlesden Police Station's front counter is used more than that of Kilburn Police Station, which is staying open.
