Working to Make Brent Better

LIB DEMS SET FOR AMAZING WIN

2.00.00pm UTC (GMT +0000) Tue 16th Sep 2003

With just a few days to polling day, it's the Liberal Democrat Sarah Teather who seems set to become the new MP. The feeling amongst many communities is that they have been let down by Labour. The Conservative candidate has admitted that she cannot win.

The word on the streets in Brent is that all those people who want to send a message to Tony Blair are uniting behind the Lib Dems for the by-election on Thursday. The Lib Dems have run the most impressive campaign. Sarah Teather has shown that she will be a strong local MP fighting to get a better deal for all local people.

Labour Struggle

Labour's Robert Evans has not impressed voters. He did not make the journey from his home in Surrey to defend Tony Blair at a public meeting about Iraq. The Conservative candidate is clearly trailing third and has been described by the national press as "throwing in the towel."

Many Conservative supporters are now switching to the Lib Dems for Thursday's election.

Every sign is that their votes may make the difference in an election which may make national headlines!
