Sarah Teather is campaigning to clean up Brent

People in Brent feel let down by Labour politicians who promised so much.

Latest figures show that over a third of those who supported Labour at the last election have now switched their support, mostly to Charles Kennedy's Liberal Democrats.

Top issues for local voters include crime, long hospital waiting lists and the state of our area. They are angry that despite many promises, nothing seems to change.

Sarah Teather said, "Local people are fed up and don't believe Labour's promises any more. They have been ignored by Labour politicians on Iraq, tube privatisation and Council Tax rises. Local people want an MP who will put their interests first and get things done for our area."

Dirty Streets

Sarah Teather has been campaigning to clean up Brent after years of neglect. Graffiti, abandoned cars and litter can be found on streets all over our area. Despite huge Council Tax rises, the Labour Council has failed to take action to keep our area clean.

Sarah Teather said, "I am pressing for action on dozens of problems across our area. Many of the streets in our area are in a shocking state with graffiti and rubbish. Local people deserve much better than this.

Tackling Crime

The Council has also failed to take action to tackle crime in Brent. Not one person who took part in a Lib Dem residents' survey in June said the Council was doing enough to fight crime.

Sarah Teather said, "As our next MP, I will make the battle to make our streets safer my top priority."
