Sarah Teather MP for Brent East has today welcomed some of the on the improvements Kilburn High Road and Cricklewood Broadway. However, the local Liberal Democrat MP fears that the good work is being undone by the amount of rubbish on the streets.

Sarah Teather MP said:

"The improvements are welcome in terms of attracting new businesses to Kilburn and Cricklewood but we need to get the basics right like removing the rubbish from our streets.

"New enterprise has to be encouraged and cleaning up the surrounding area would help encourage businesses and their customers. It is no good for local businesses when their customers are faced with plastic bags gusting up in their faces and having to dodge fly-tips.

"These projects must go hand in hand with a determination from the Council to clean up the surrounding area. Only then will we see the true benefits of regeneration."
