Sarah Teather MP is fighting against Post Office closures in Brent

Local Liberal Democrat Sarah Teather MP is fighting to save seven local Post Offices in Brent. The Liberal Democrat MP has with her Brent Liberal Democrat colleagues collected hundreds of signatures opposing these closures.

Local Liberal Democrat MP Sarah Teather said:

"These closures are a disgrace. I find it appalling that the Post Office backed by the Labour Government is destroying this valuable community service. It is those most vulnerable in our society who will be made to suffer the most. Elderly and disabled people will have to walk a considerable distance to their nearest Post Office if these closures go through. This is totally unacceptable.

"The Liberal Democrats are completely opposed to these closures, hundreds of local people have backed our campaign to save local Post Offices. I shall be urging the Government to listen to local people and abandon these closure plans.

"Local people are in uproar that their Post Offices are yet again threatened with closure. I and my Liberal Democrat colleagues will be fighting these closures all the way."

"I find it appalling that under this Labour Government one third of local post offices are set to close. The Conservatives are irrelevant in this debate when they were in power 4,000 local Post Offices closed. The Liberal Democrats are fully committed to fighting Post Office closures on behalf of local people."
