Sarah Teather is concerned at a breach in residents confidentiallity by Brent Council

Local Liberal Democrat MP Sarah Teather has today expressed concern over issues of a breach of confidentiality by Brent Council. The Brent East MP has written to the Council's Chief Executive Gareth Daniel to ask him to investigate the matter.

The breach came about after a local resident received a letter from the Council about their housing benefit only to find that there were five other letters also inside the envelope concerning other residents housing benefit.

Local Liberal Democrat MP Sarah Teather said:

"This is obviously very concerning. The confidentiality of people's personal records is very important. I hope that the Council takes this matter very seriously and looks into how this can be prevented in the future."
