Sarah Teather MP in the House of Commons

Sarah Teather has stood up for local people in Parliament

Sarah Teather has worked hard for Brent East since she was elected in the by-election in 2003. Sarah has spoken out for local residents on a range of issues that effect them.

  • Better Housing

Many local families live in over-crowded unsuitable homes whilst other houses lie empty and abandoned.

  • On education

Sarah demanded answers from Tony Blair himself on funding for the college of North West London. She also wants to make sure that Brent schoolchildren don't continue to miss out thanks to Brent Council's 8% underspend on education this year alone.

  • Internationally

Sarah has voted against sending more troops to Iraq and also for the British Government to stand up for British residents held in Guantanomo Bay by the United States.
